Melon Events

Registration Forms for melon events
Registration Forms are required to be completed before you can participate in any ARENA events. Shell’s QGC Registration Tent is located at top north east corner of the Arena. Once registration forms have been completed and signed, an armband will be placed on your arm to allow you to participate. If under 18, your parent/guardian must sign form.

Melon Skiing
Time: 12pm - 4pm

Required one person skiing on Melon Skins. Squish your feet into a pair of watermelons and ski all the way down the course. 

Melon Bungy - Sponsored by: Tasman
Time: Heats - 12pm - 3pm. Champion of Champions at 3pm - 4pm 

Requires four people - all attached to a bungy rope on a slippery mat covered with melon. The aim is to reach and retrieve your melon! 

Slip Dip & Pull - Sponsored by: STAG Machinery
Time: 12pm - 4pm

See who the strongest team is in the slippery tug-a-war. 

Melon Chariot Race - Sponsored by: McDonalds Chinchilla
Race time: 4pm

Register team of 3 at Shell's QGC registration tent from 11am.  

Chariots to be made from melon packing cartons, pallets and ready made axles. Race is held in the arena. Participants must wear enclosed footwear. Aim is to race the entire lap and not fall off! 

Melon Iron Man / Woman - Sponsored by: Remondis
Time: 4pm

Register team of 2 at Shell's QGC registration tent from 11am. 

Require two participants per team. Maximum of 20 male teams & 20 female teams. Ironman circuit containing obstacles, challenges and task to showcase the physicality of the Melon Industry. Aim to complete the circuit with an intact melon in the fastest time.
